16 WELLS ARE AWAITING DEVELOPMENT DURING 2022

The Director General of The General Petroleum Corporation , Engineer Nabih Khristin , revealed that the plan of The Ministry Of Oil And Mineral Resources is to increase oil and gas production, during the current year , in order to secure the fuel needed to operate power stations .
He said that the meeting , which was headed by Prime Minister Hussain Arnous on February 15,2022 . He added that The Ministry Of Oil And Mineral Resources, has developed an ambitious plan to overcome the shortage of fuel and oil derivatives by entering new exploration areas that could not be accessed previously .
Khristin indicated that the plan includes the work of /5/ rigs in several fields , explaining that the targeted fields this year amounted to about /16/ exploration , development , and production wells with the help of The Syrian Oil Company and companies operating in the country .
